Where is Jost Van Dyke?

A year-round perfect climate and intimate island feel make Jost Van Dyke an attractive Caribbean destination. A member of the British Virgin Islands, Jost is located five miles north of St. Thomas/St. John, four miles west of Tortola BVI, and about 60 miles east of Puerto Rico. About four miles long and a mile or two wide, Jost offers that personal island feel that larger islands simply can't give. Everything is smaller, more secluded, and easier to get to. In short, it's the perfect island getaway. Only 145 people call Jost home year-round, keeping the island an unspoiled paradise. There are three bays on the island, and Pink House Villas sit on White Bay, the least inhabited spot on Jost and our guest's secluded beach. Great Bay Harbor at the center offers a Customs House, ferry landing, restaurants and taverns. Little Harbor on the East end also offers a selection of eateries and bars.

What are the top things to do on Jost Van Dyke?

WOW! If quiet days on the beach, reading, swimming, snorkeling, taking long walks, writing, painting, watching the sunset, or anything else that comes to mind isn't enough, here area few ideas:

• Take an ATV, bike or hike around JVD (the road is a circle,about 6 miles long and very rugged - be sure to take water and wear comfortable shoes - some or all of it makes a great jogging expedition). BVI Adventure can help with your rental needs for ATVs, bikes, and much more.
• Walk or swim to the Soggy Dollar forlunch or afternoon cocktails - there is always good company and new friends to be made!
• Walk down the beach to Ivan's beachbar.

• Visit the Bubbly Pool on the eastern end of JVD - walk, taxi, water taxi, or rent a Jeep to get there.
• Take a ferry to St. John, USVI or Tortola, BVI for a day of shopping and sightseeing

Great Harbour is a village of picturesque wooden houses located on a sandy beach - a portrait of a by-gone era. A wonderful place for a walk, or to do some shopping. Dining Out
